On October 15th, AIARD and APLU (International Agriculture Section of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities) held a side event "Agriculture as peace-building in post-conflict settings" at the World Food Prize Borlaug Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa. We were joined by over fifty participants to discuss the role of agricultural development for post-conflict reconstruction.

Poetry can be powerful and Dr. Larew mentions that "research studies and policy briefs about food insecurity are incredibly important in our fight against hunger, but they just can’t grab the heart or imagination in the same way that a poet’s carefully written lines can."
